myVIP is a carefully curated collection of over one hundred roles, brought together to inspire, through video and the written word. Our mission is to help you find the answer to that big question:
What do I want to do
with my life?
We believe that careers need to be brought to life for young people. Today they are living in an environment where real-world work experience is challenging, especially for many complex roles. Issues such as safeguarding, health and safety, insurance and all manner of other hurdles, make work experience in all but fairly simple opportunities, almost impossible. The next best thing is using modern media to engage students in potential future outcomes. We deliver this through a unique collection of Job Diaries, written from the real life experience of those actually working in each area. This is supported with introductory videos and teaching resources to help staff deliver Careers Week activities, but beyond that, Work Related Learning throughout the school calendar, school year groups and the wide variety of subject areas modern learning delivers.

What does your future look like?
Students with access to a subscription through their school are able to use the CareerQuiz to help explore potentially relevant and interesting careers. One of the challenges when looking at the big wide world of careers is that you may not have much of a starting point for career searching. Our CareerQuiz is a simplified version of tried and tested personality profiling. By borrowing from employment and psychometric testing tools, our simple five groups of questions creates a list of suggestions based loosely on your answers. It is more fun than scientific, but there is some sound research behind it and more importantly, it gets your mind thinking and searching without feeling overwhelmed with the choices!
“We are delighted to continue to offer this resource as a unique collection of carefully curated roles. With over one hundred selected people, and their associated lives, revealed through our Job Diaries. It is amazing to think that it was back in 2004 that we invented the term, ‘Virtual Industry Placement’, and now we remain committed to the ongoing partnership between human experience and computing technology. We hope we inspire students, as they get the chance to immerse themselves in myVIP, toward a more engaged and thoughtful future.”
